On 1 August, KIS, Noida (IB & Cambridge), hosted an insightful Faculty-led Mental Health Masterclass in collaboration with FLAME University Pune, for Cambridge students from Grades AS, A Level, and IBDP-1. We were privileged to welcome Moitrayee Das, Assistant Professor at FLAME University, as the distinguished speaker. The masterclass aimed to raise awareness about mental health challenges faced by Generation Z, with a particular focus on anxiety and healthy coping strategies. During the session, Prof. Moitrayee Das discussed the reasons behind Gen Z’s openness about mental health.

The five-day Summer School recently held at Delhi Metropolitan Education (DME), attended by Cambridge A Level students, KIS (IB & Cambridge), was truly an enriching and well-structured experience that combined academic learning with practical exposure. Each day focused on a unique theme ranging from Financial literacy, Photoshoot workshops to management insights, emotional intelligence and cybersecurity. On October 18, 2024, Kothari International School Noida, in partnership with the Uttar Pradesh Fire Department, conducted an extensive fire drill for students in Grades 5 to 12. This vital exercise included testing fire extinguishers, practicing alarms, and executing a complete emergency evacuation. Fire Department officials provided invaluable education on essential safety precautions, including the correct use of smoke detectors and water hoses. They emphasized the importance of teamwork during evacuations and also trained our security team on effective emergency actions. On 6th September 2024, our Grade LS-3 students took part in a lively classroom debate as part of their Wellbeing module on healthy relationships. Guided by Ms. Vanya Chadha, Faculty of Wellbeing, the debate explored whether long-distance friendships make relationships better or worse. For the Motion: Students like Anandi, Shruti, and Aadrit emphasized that technology, meaningful communication, and personal growth are the benefits of distance friendships. They argued that physical separation can lead to deeper connections and appreciation for each other. Through an engaging hands-on activity, they used equilateral triangles, rhombuses, and trapeziums to cover a hexagon and discover the fractions of its area represented by each shape. On August 8, 2024, Grade IGCSE-2 hosted an inspiring assembly to honor student achievements. The highlight was the presentation of "Dancing Against the Odds," a heartwarming story about Samir, a young boy who dreams of becoming a dancer. Despite his mother's disapproval, Samir's father supports his passion, leading him to secretly participate in a dance competition.
